About the role#
As a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist Student at Cherokee Indian Hospital, you will gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting. This role involves performing invasive and non-invasive procedures under supervision to produce high-quality imaging studies. You will work closely with department managers and technologists to support patient care while completing your educational requirements. This position requires flexibility, as you may be scheduled to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
What you'll do#
- Perform invasive and non-invasive procedures on a wide variety of patients.
- Operate complex imaging equipment and utilize sterile techniques when necessary.
- Conduct mobile imaging procedures in the emergency room and in-patient rooms.
- Assist technologists in evaluating images to ensure diagnostic quality.
- Maintain workflow efficiency by prioritizing cases and minimizing downtime.
- Support patient safety by following infection control procedures and using proper body mechanics.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Accredited Radiography Program.
- A letter of recommendation from your Radiography or Clinical Instructor confirming good standing.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for CPR.
- A valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
- Ability to pass the ARRT registry within 3 months of graduation.
- Capability to lift or move up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks like kneeling or reaching.
