About the role#
Centerstone Chattanooga is seeking interns for the school year to support our school-based mental health services. This is an unpaid, part-time internship that requires on-site participation. You will gain experience by working directly with school-based staff and assisting at our clinic as needed.
What you'll do#
- Shadow school-based staff to learn the day-to-day expectations of a therapist.
- Provide assessments, case coordination, and counseling for individuals, groups, and families under supervision.
- Maintain a caseload throughout the school year.
- Plan and lead at least one group session each week, including preparing resources and writing group notes.
- Meet 24-hour documentation standards for all patient interactions.
- Attend weekly supervision sessions provided by Centerstone and fulfill requirements from your university program.
What you'll need#
- A bachelor’s degree.
- Current enrollment in a master’s level program for Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field.
- Status as a student in good standing with your university.
