About the role#
The Social Media and Public Relations Intern joins our Marketing and Communications team to support core brand, content, and media relations efforts. You will work within the Sales and Business Services department to gain hands-on experience while helping us maintain our professional presence across digital channels. This is a paid, part-time position that offers the opportunity to contribute to our mission of making the connected world a safer place.
What you'll do#
- Support the execution of our marketing strategy by drafting posts and creating visual assets.
- Manage our social media presence by scheduling content, monitoring for engagement, and responding to comments.
- Research industry news, competitor activity, and current trends to inform our content strategy.
- Repurpose long-form content like white papers and blogs into social media assets.
- Track performance metrics and report on social media reach and growth.
- Assist the team by writing press releases, building media lists, and pitching stories.
- Help prepare subject matter experts for media interviews and track coverage.
- Collaborate with the team to brainstorm ideas for brand awareness and thought leadership.
What you'll need#
- At least 2 years of study in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Canva.
- Experience or familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Excellent attention to detail regarding grammar and spelling.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Bonus points for experience with Adobe Premiere, After Effects, or marketing tools like Sprout Social, Salesforce, Pardot, and Google Analytics.
- Familiarity with media databases such as Muck Rack or Talkwalker is a plus.
Location & details#
- This position is fully remote.
- Employment is part-time with a rolling term.
- The pay range for this role is $18.27 to $22.33 per hour.
