About the role#
The Education Intern supports the Population and Sustainability program by developing resources that address the upstream drivers of the climate crisis. This role focuses on engaging K-12 educators and students through campaigns like Simplify the Holidays and Endangered Species Condoms. The position is part-time and temporary, offering an opportunity to contribute to environmental advocacy through creative media and educational outreach.
What you'll do#
- Create age-appropriate educational resources and classroom activities for K-12 audiences.
- Develop a Simplify the Holidays program aimed at reducing plastic consumption and waste in school settings.
- Conduct research on the use of plastics in K-12 environments, including schools and Scout troops.
- Assist with campaign outreach and the dissemination of educational materials to K-12 educators.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Strong writing and research skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues simply.
- Excellent organization, computer, and time management skills.
- Detail-oriented approach with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- A passion for and knowledge of protecting biodiversity.
- Relevant academic background in subjects such as Environmental Engineering, Biology, Communications, Public Health, Psychology, or Political Science.
Location & details#
- This is a remote position based in Minnesota.
- Compensation is $18.07 per hour.
- The role is part-time and temporary with a rolling application process.
