About the role#
CenCore is looking for a part-time Accounting Intern to join our team in Springville, Utah. You will work directly under the Corporate Controller to gain hands-on experience in daily accounting operations. This role involves supporting accurate financial records, reporting, and compliance through on-the-job training. Successful interns may be considered for future full-time opportunities after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Prepare, maintain, and review daily journal entries.
- Review credit card transactions for project accounting accuracy.
- Support accounts payable payments and accounts receivable collections.
- Maintain weekly reports for overdue invoices and outstanding balances.
- Assist with month-end close activities.
- Collaborate with the Accounting Manager to develop management reports and identify benchmarks.
- Maintain records and support internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and DCAA requirements.
- Provide information to external and government auditors.
- Assist with tax filings and local, state, and federal reporting.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Sophomore or junior academic standing.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel proficiency.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and GAAP.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Ability to work in person in Springville, Utah.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online is preferred.
- Bookkeeping experience or knowledge of general ledger functions.
- Familiarity with VBA or Excel macros.
- Understanding of internal controls and the month-end close process.

- This is an on-site position based in Springville, Utah.
- The role is part-time, typically 20+ hours per week.
- The internship is paid with a rolling term and no set end date.
