About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in marine, piling, and civil construction projects. You will work directly with project teams to support site operations, planning, safety, and engineering processes. The role is designed to build industry skills that complement your academic studies.
What you'll do#
- Help the project team establish sequential steps for project processes and adjust schedules as needed.
- Support planning and estimating to ensure form system designs are safe and efficient.
- Assist in preparing formwork layout drawings and erection instructions for field crews.
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors during the estimating phase.
- Manage document control tasks, including ordering deliveries, quantity control, and daily reporting.
- Monitor project safety, costs, and scheduling.
- Troubleshoot structural design concerns with the project team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Alternatively, at least 2 years of experience in construction and estimating.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Advanced knowledge of safety standards and OSHA regulations.
- Strong communication skills to interact with team members, customers, and vendors.
- Ability to organize and analyze plan layouts, material deliveries, and jobsite productivity.
- Experience with scheduling software, budgeting, or forecasting is a plus.
