About the role#
Ceco Concrete Construction L.L.C. is hiring a full-time Engineering Intern to join our team. This role provides hands-on experience in the construction industry, supporting our engineering and fabrication processes. You will work closely with project managers, designers, and administrative staff to ensure projects stay on track.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the production of shop and field drawings and prepare documents to align with project schedules.
- Manage material purchases, including forecasting, tracking, and procuring inventory.
- Process and document shop and erection drawings for fabrication and field use.
- Maintain digital files for design drawings, shop releases, and as-built documents.
- Handle CNC/CAM file conversion and processing.
- Manage RFI and submittal logs, distribution, and follow-up.
- Review change orders and perform take-offs.
- Update shop schedules and track fabrication hours.
- Audit safety postings and procedures in the plant and safety manuals.
- Monitor delivery deadlines for engineering, fabrication, and subcontractors.
- Support administrative contract tasks and prepare status reports for management.
- Perform physical inventory duties and other assigned special projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to read structural drawings and construction documents.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong communication skills to interact with internal teams, vendors, and customers.
- Detail-oriented approach with the ability to organize complex information regarding layouts and material deliveries.
- Willingness to travel and work on projects outside of the office area.
