About the role#
The Concrete Construction Intern supports the planning and execution phases of projects. You will gain hands-on experience in formwork design, project estimating, scheduling, and safety tracking. This role works directly with engineers, managers, and field teams to translate classroom knowledge into real-world application. You will assist in resolving design challenges, coordinating materials, and preparing project proposals.
What you'll do#
- Support the planning and estimating stage to ensure efficient, safe, and economical form systems.
- Prepare formwork layout drawings and erection instructions for field crews.
- Monitor safety, cost, and scheduling of construction projects with the project team.
- Troubleshoot and resolve structural design concerns.
- Aid in the preparation of quantity surveys, formwork estimates, and project proposals.
- Coordinate material purchases, deliveries, tracking, and forecasting to maximize resource utilization.
- Manage special projects and complete other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD or BIM Modeling.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel and work for extended periods on projects outside of the office area.
