About the role#
CAS is seeking a Cheminformatics Scientist Intern to join our Content Operations Division for the summer of 2027. You will support the analysis of chemical information and the development of an internal curation platform. This role involves working within a cross-functional team to build services and systems that help organize scientific data.
What you'll do#
- Support back-end and front-end development efforts.
- Work with chemists, biologists, and data scientists on various projects.
- Assist in the development of services and systems within an Agile team.
- Collaborate with teammates and product owners to groom backlogs for upcoming development sprints.
- Maintain records of your activities and document your methodologies and findings.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Chemistry, Cheminformatics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with Python and Java.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A self-motivated approach with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
