About the role#
Carrier’s Light Commercial HVAC New Product Development team is seeking a student for a co-op position. This role offers practical experience supporting engineering analyses, laboratory testing, and development work related to compression, heat transfer, and materials science. The position is expected to require approximately 10 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate academic schedules.
What you'll do#
- Support engineering analyses, data reduction, and technical evaluations for HVAC components and systems.
- Assist with laboratory testing, including test setup, instrumentation, data collection, and documentation of results.
- Develop and improve analytical tools, models, calculations, and workflows using engineering software and digital tools.
- Contribute to development activities involving components, materials, refrigerant systems, and controls to improve product performance and efficiency.
- Support digital operations initiatives, such as data organization, dashboard development, and analysis of lab or operational performance data.
- Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to complete tasks and communicate findings.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering.
- An overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Preferred coursework in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, or HVAC systems.
- Familiarity with engineering software, coding, or digital tools for data analysis.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to learning.
