About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Lab Operations internship based in Charlotte, North Carolina. You will join the team for the Summer 2027 term. This role requires you to work on-site at our facility.
What you'll do#
- Support the execution of engineering and qualification testing for water-cooled and air-cooled chiller products.
- Assist laboratory personnel with test setups, instrumentation installation, equipment preparation, and data collection.
- Monitor test progress, document results, and validate data for accuracy.
- Help develop and maintain laboratory standard work, operating procedures, and testing documentation.
- Coordinate with Product Engineering, Sustaining Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Laboratory teams to support testing priorities.
- Assist with root cause investigations for test anomalies and equipment issues.
- Document lessons learned and best practices to support organizational knowledge.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters degree program in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow written procedures, safety guidelines, and instructions.
- Good organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Willingness to learn the use of multimeters, soldering equipment, and basic electronic test instruments.
- A basic understanding of electronic components and electrical principles is preferred.
- Prior engineering internship experience is a plus.
