About the role#
This co-op position supports the design, development, and release of Carrier Transicold Container transportation products. You will work alongside project engineers to move initiatives from the initial concept stage through to production implementation. This role involves both office-based design work and hands-on laboratory testing.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the design and implementation of electrical and mechanical systems for container refrigeration units.
- Support project engineers in evaluating field failures, conducting failure analysis, and implementing corrective action plans.
- Plan and supervise experiments, including the design of experimental facilities and monitoring data acquisition.
- Conduct laboratory testing and utilize modeling tools to validate designs.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- An overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship.
- Proficiency in mechanical design, including experience with wiring, connectors, and harnessing.
- Familiarity with HVAC&R equipment and systems.
- Experience with new product design and qualification.
- Proficiency in modern experimental methods, instrumentation, and measurement systems.
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and interact effectively with cross-functional teams.
