Carnegie Mellon University is seeking two Housefellow and Coordinator for Residential Education professionals to join the Division of Student Affairs. This role serves as a primary advocate for student development, focusing on the social, academic, intellectual, and personal growth of students within a residential community. This is a live-on position that requires participation in the Student Affairs emergency response duty rotation.
What you'll do#
- Drive the development of the residential experience by executing the residential engagement model.
- Select, train, lead, supervise, and evaluate a team of Community Advisors and Resident Assistants.
- Provide one-on-one mentorship, support, and guidance to students to enhance their success.
- Coordinate emergency response and ongoing case management for a designated residential population.
- Manage the House budget and oversee community expenses related to programming and development.
- Collaborate with campus partners, including Housing Services, Counseling and Psychological Services, and academic departments.
- Oversee critical initiatives within Residential Education, such as student staff selection, leadership development, and team culture.
What you'll need#
- A Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of full-time experience in a student affairs role.
- Strong interpersonal and intercultural communication skills.
- A demonstrated commitment to community, culture, and student engagement.
- A proven commitment to helping students identify their unique talents through meaningful connections.
- Ability to multitask and manage administrative responsibilities effectively.
