About the role#
As a Leasing Community Intern, you will support our team in maintaining high occupancy levels through resident retention and leasing efforts. You will serve as a primary contact for prospective residents, helping them find their next home while ensuring our community remains welcoming and well-maintained. This role requires a balance of administrative work and direct customer engagement.
What you'll do#
- Greet prospective clients and answer leasing calls to determine their housing needs.
- Present apartment homes and community amenities using feature-benefit selling techniques.
- Manage the full leasing process, including completing applications and maintaining accurate lease files.
- Participate in Cardinal Way of Leasing and Cardinal U training programs.
- Conduct lease file audits and ensure the tour path is clean and presentable.
- Assist with planning community events and various property projects.
- Handle on-call duties, such as lock-outs and nightly rounds.
- Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with residents, vendors, and team members.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with at least 6 credit hours completed after your first year.
- Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
- Must be a current or future leaseholder at the community and live on the designated floor as assigned.
- Ability to work approximately 20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs and access all areas of the property, including outdoor spaces in various weather conditions.
