About the role#
The Leasing Community Intern role focuses on maintaining high occupancy levels through resident retention and leasing activities. This position requires a balance of administrative duties and direct customer service, serving as an ambassador for the community. Interns are expected to work approximately 20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends, and must reside at the community where they are employed.
What you'll do#
- Deliver customer service to residents and prospective clients.
- Manage front desk administrative tasks and maintain accurate lease file documentation.
- Complete lease applications and participate in lease file audits.
- Conduct leasing activities including answering calls, greeting clients, and performing apartment tours.
- Assist in planning community events and completing assigned community projects.
- Participate in required training programs, including the Cardinal Way of Leasing and Cardinal U.
- Perform on-call responsibilities such as lock-outs and nightly rounds.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the tour path to ensure a positive presentation of the property.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with at least 6 credit hours and one completed year of study.
- Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
- Must be a current or future leaseholder of the community.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and navigate the property, including interior and exterior areas in various weather conditions.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Real Estate, or Communications.

- Location: Salt Lake City, Utah.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: Hourly rate plus bonus eligibility.
- Term: Rolling, with an annual re-application requirement.
