About the role#
This undergraduate nursing preceptorship at the CARES Center provides students with the opportunity to engage in professional tasks that reinforce classroom learning. Interns will integrate their knowledge, values, and clinical skills within a behavioral health setting to prepare for future professional practice. This position requires an established contract between the student's academic institution and Canopy Children's Solutions.
What you'll do#
- Attend a mandatory orientation and training session at the start of the program.
- Engage actively in professional nursing tasks under the guidance of a site supervisor.
- Integrate clinical knowledge, values, and behavioral health competencies into daily practice.
- Satisfactorily complete all learning goals as outlined by your university and site supervisor.
- Wear appropriate scrubs or clinical attire while on-site.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate Nursing degree program at an accredited institution.
- Must be in good academic standing.
- Excellent oral and written presentation skills.
- Demonstrated maturity and self-motivation.
- Ability to work effectively with families with diverse needs.
- Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver's license.
