About the role#
The Satellite Engineering Student works with the engineering team in Saint-Hubert, Quebec. You will support the operation of a fleet of spacecraft. This is a full-time, paid position covering the Winter and Summer 2027 terms, from January through August.
What you'll do#
- Monitor scheduled activities to ensure satellite health and maintain logs.
- Track orbit evolution, perform routine maintenance, and assist with collision avoidance.
- Provide real-time support for special and contingency satellite activities.
- Confirm successful execution of tasks and identify anomalous satellite behavior.
- Learn to monitor mission health and orbit performance.
- Implement contingency recoveries and maintain hardware and software configurations.
- Identify process improvements and manage relevant documentation.
What you'll need#
- Successful completion of three years in an Engineering degree, preferably in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or Physics and Astronomy.
- Fluent knowledge of both spoken and written English.
- Ability to meet the requirements of the Canadian Controlled Goods Program.
- Ability to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Secret level.
- Please attach an official university transcript to your application.
- Knowledge of French, control systems, radio frequency systems, electrical power systems, orbital mechanics, Linux, database management, AI, machine learning, or programming (Python, Java, SQL, Perl, Matlab, C) is an asset.
