About the role#
BWXT is hiring a Human Resources Intern for the summer of 2027. This position is based in Erwin, Tennessee, and requires you to work on-site. You will report to the local Senior HR Manager and assist with daily operational tasks. This is a paid, full-time internship.
What you'll do#
- Research and answer employee inquiries.
- Support new hire onboarding to ensure a positive experience.
- Update internal systems and databases to keep data accurate.
- Prepare HR reports using available tools.
- Review HR policies and processes to suggest improvements.
- Write communications regarding policy or procedural changes.
- Maintain new hire files while protecting the confidentiality of records.
- Work with the local management team and participate in continuous improvement projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or advanced degree program in human resources or a related field.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information.
- Ability to work on-site every day as scheduled.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Teams.
- Familiarity with HRIS and ATS software.
- Working knowledge of U.S. labor laws.
- Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification is a plus.
