About the role#
The Systems/Software Engineering Co-op joins the Connected Operations and Analytics team at Mercury Marine. You will assist in digitizing manufacturing processes by connecting, collecting, and analyzing data from operational equipment. This role supports Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Industry 4.0 initiatives within an agile workflow.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and data scientists across multiple manufacturing plants.
- Utilize SQL queries to retrieve data from on-site and cloud databases.
- Create operational dashboards, data visualizations, and reporting tools using Ignition and Power BI.
- Develop software applications to collect or deliver data throughout the organization.
- Perform data analysis and processing using scripting languages like Python or R.
- Participate in regular project updates with plant management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS program for Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum second semester sophomore status with at least 48 completed credits.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of a co-op term.
- Ability to enroll in a formalized co-op program through your university.
- Capacity to occasionally lift up to 35 lbs.

- Terms: Winter 2027, Summer 2027, or Fall 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $18.00 to $27.50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
