About the role#
This is a full-time, paid research internship for Summer 2026. The role focuses on the Breakthrough T1D Cell Therapy program, specifically assessing methods and procedures used to measure insulin-producing cell function. You will help develop a unified framework for these assessments by surveying current literature and interviewing experts in the field to create harmonized recommendations for islet cell research.
What you'll do#
- Interface with leading researchers in the islet cell replacement field.
- Survey literature databases, including NLM NCBI PubMed, to gather data.
- Synthesize and analyze research data to identify common parameters and methodologies.
- Present findings to support the development of standardized guidelines for the field.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program related to Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Public Health, Biomedical Engineering, or Data Science.
- Familiarity or interest in biomedical research, particularly regarding Type 1 Diabetes (T1D).
- Strong communication skills to conduct effective interviews with research professionals.
- Experience working with NLM NCBI PubMed.
