About the role#
As a Research and Development Engineering Co-op, you will support the development and testing of an ultrasound-based ablation catheter used for Renal Denervation. This role is for students or recent graduates interested in medical device innovation, specifically in catheter-based therapeutic ultrasound. You will work on-site in Maple Grove, Minnesota, as part of a multidisciplinary team.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design, prototyping, and testing of single-use catheters, including therapy catheters and access sheaths.
- Design and conduct laboratory experiments and mechanical tests.
- Analyze data from test results and draw conclusions.
- Document experimental methods, results, and insights in clear, structured reports.
- Present findings effectively to cross-functional project teams.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including R&D, Process Development, Design Quality, and capital equipment partners.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Graduation date between Fall 2027 and Spring 2029.
- Ability to commit to the full program period from January 11, 2027, to August 13, 2027.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
- Reliable transportation to the Maple Grove, MN location.
- Basic understanding of vascular or cardiovascular physiology, catheter materials, and statistical analysis.
- Familiarity with design analysis testing and quality documentation processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with laboratory equipment and mechanical testing is preferred, as is prior project or internship experience in medical device development.

- This is a paid, full-time, on-site position based in Maple Grove, MN.
- The role is considered safety-sensitive and requires a prohibited substance test.
