This R&D Engineering Associate position is a full-time, paid opportunity for the Summer 2026 term. You will work within the Research & Development department to support the ideation, design, prototyping, and manufacturing transfer of medical devices. This role requires a commitment to patient safety and product quality while adhering to established quality policies and procedures.
What you'll do#
- Assist in device development through prototyping, testing, and 3D modeling.
- Create and execute verification and validation testing to confirm design requirements.
- Prepare regulatory filings in collaboration with IP and Regulatory Affairs teams.
- Support clinical trials and coordinate with external suppliers and clinicians.
- Produce technical documentation, including drawings, work instructions, and reports.
- Monitor safety practices and ensure compliance with ISO 13485 and FDA standards while meeting cross-functional product timelines.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an Engineering degree or recent graduation with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Biomedical, or Computer Engineering.
- Previous experience through internships, co-ops, or academic projects involving product design, testing, or development.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare technical documentation such as reports, work instructions, or drawings.
- Exposure to laboratory or engineering test environments and the use of standard measurement tools.
Location & details#
- Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
- Work Modality: Hybrid, requiring at least three days per week in the office.
