About the role#
The Data and Analytics Center of Excellence is looking for students to join our Co-Op Program for the Winter 2027 term. This role focuses on NLP and GenAI, where you will apply data science knowledge to real-world challenges. You will work within a team that uses machine learning and analytics to support marketing, sales, finance, and supply chain operations.
What you'll do#
- Engage with business partners and stakeholders to understand their challenges and opportunities.
- Explore large datasets using modeling, analysis, and visualization techniques.
- Transform findings into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Contribute to the end-to-end development of predictive and prescriptive models.
- Design, build, and optimize workflows to streamline and automate data processing.
- Develop and maintain applications that provide intuitive interfaces for end users.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or Engineering.
- Two years of experience with SQL, Python, pandas, and scikit-learn.
- Experience fitting and evaluating classical machine learning models like Logistic Regression, Random Forests, or Multi-layer Perceptron.
- Prior NLP experience, including work with LLMs, fine-tuning transformer architectures, semantic search, or text summarization.
- Good interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Developing expertise in analytics, BI, statistics, or data science.
- Familiarity with the following is preferred: deep learning basics, Databricks, Snowflake, LangChain, Hugging Face Transformers, Llama 3.x, OpenAI APIs, Pydantic, MLflow, Streamlit, and Git/GitHub.
- Previous data science experience through internships, work, or competitions is preferred.
