About the role#
As a Systems Engineer Intern, you will combine your technical skills with big-picture thinking to support global defense missions. You will work within a team to maintain systems and translate real-world needs into technical specifications. This role provides an opportunity to develop your software engineering skills while gaining practical experience in a collaborative environment.
What you'll do#
- Translate real-world needs into technical specifications.
- Maintain existing systems.
- Develop your skills in software engineering.

- Write source code for new applications or enhance existing code samples.
- Acquire client requirements and resolve workflow problems through automation optimization.
- Use automated testing tools to perform maintenance and testing.
What you'll need#
- Experience implementing and maintaining software programs.
- Familiarity with software development using basic programming languages, technologies, or web development stacks.
- Experience creating solutions to complex problems in a collaborative, cross-functional team.
- Ability to learn new languages and frameworks.
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
- Scheduled to obtain a Bachelor’s degree by Spring or Summer 2028.
- Exposure to technologies such as JavaScript, SQL, React, Python, NodeJS, API development, or Spring frameworks.
- Pursuing a major in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
