About the role#
Bohler is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for our Bowie, Maryland office for the Summer 2027 term. This position offers hands-on experience in land development and site design. You will work alongside engineers, designers, and project managers to support the design and permitting of commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use projects.
What you'll do#
- Experience the day-to-day operations of a civil engineering and site design firm.
- Learn the various stages of the land development process, from concept to construction.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to design concept, grading, stormwater management, utility, and soil erosion plans.
- Collaborate with the project team to coordinate and drive development projects.
- Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
- Visit project sites to observe field conditions and the engineering process.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for design and process improvements.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering, or a related field (including Mathematics or Biology).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- A strong interest in civil site design, land development, and problem-solving.
