About the role#
Boeing is seeking students and recent graduates of Boeing Pre-Employment Training (BPET) certified courses to join 787 production teams in North Charleston, South Carolina. This role involves working within a manufacturing assembly environment to complete daily assigned tasks using prior experience and training certifications. This is a full-time, on-site position requiring flexibility for variable shifts.
What you'll do#
- Prepare exterior surfaces of aircraft for painting.
- Interpret intricate drawings and detailed work instructions to identify work locations on parts and tooling.
- Perform layout, make patterns, and apply primers, paints, and finishes to aircraft exteriors.
- Apply external markings to aircraft sections.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of fall protection gear and safety masks.
- Maintain rigorous quality standards to ensure work meets regulatory and company requirements.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment and communicate effectively with support teams.
- Use a computer to manage tasks within the production environment.
What you'll need#
- Completion of a BPET certified course and possession of a valid BPET Endorsement Form.
- Prior experience painting in aircraft, automotive, industrial, or general painting environments.
- Ability to work variable shifts as required by business needs.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds, push or pull up to 45 pounds of force, and reach overhead for up to six hours per day.
- Physical capability to stand for 6-8 hours, climb stairs or ladders, and perform frequent bending, twisting, squatting, and kneeling.
- Ability to work with high hazard chemicals.
- Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements as a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
