About the role#
This co-op position is based in the Cardiovascular-Renal Metabolic Diseases Research department at our Ridgefield, Connecticut facility. You will focus on developing B cell and iPSC cell differentiation protocols and functional assays to validate new therapeutic concepts. The role involves expanding the department's immune cell assay toolbox to test hypotheses regarding disease mechanisms.
What you'll do#
- Plan and execute experiments, then analyze the resulting data.
- Forecast and adhere to project timelines and goals.
- Maintain detailed lab notebooks.
- Produce working protocols that others can use after your co-op ends.
- Integrate into the department to identify and begin collaborations where you generate useful data.
- Communicate your findings through lab, group, and departmental presentations.
- Ensure your studies align with broader departmental goals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a graduate or advanced degree student in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or Pharmaceutical Sciences at an accredited university.
- Completion of at least 9 credit hours at your current institution.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale is preferred.
- Proficiency in cell line, primary, and iPSC cell culture, as well as aseptic technique.
- Basic knowledge of immune cell biology, specifically B cells and macrophages, and data analysis.
- Experience conducting small research projects.
- Experience with flow cytometry and immunoassays is preferred.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without restriction.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and willing to undergo a drug test and post-offer physical if required.

- Term: Winter 2027.
- Modality: On-site, full-time.
- Compensation: $24.00 - $33.00 per hour, depending on your degree program level.
