About the role#
This role is for a student to work at the Bob Jones University main entrance. You will handle dispatch duties and serve as the first point of contact for campus visitors. This is a part-time position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Receive, log, and dispatch radio traffic across multiple frequencies.
- Manage emergency and non-emergency phone calls.
- Monitor security cameras and fire alarms, logging all activity.
- Greet visitors, answer their questions, and provide directions.
- Keep field officers informed and log their completed assignments.
- Work assigned shifts, which include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Obtain CPR and First Aid certification.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Bob Jones University.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, including phone etiquette.
- Ability to multitask under pressure while staying calm.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and web-based applications.
- Accurate and fast keyboarding skills.
