About the role#
This position supports cybersecurity operations within the Bob Jones University IT department. It is a paid, full-time student role focused on research, documentation, and operational security tasks.
What you'll do#
- Investigate, categorize, and take action on reported phishing emails.
- Research vulnerabilities and exploits to determine their applicability, adjust risk levels, and document findings.
- Analyze audit logs from various security controls to determine the impact of implementation.
- Conduct research on additional security controls as required.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Bob Jones University, with a preference for IT, Cybersecurity, or Computer Engineering majors.
- Understanding of email authentication methods, phishing attacks, and social engineering.
- Demonstrated personal interest in cybersecurity, including personal projects, labs, or activities outside of coursework.
- Familiarity with Windows and Office applications.
- Strong research and documentation skills.
- Possession of or progress toward certifications such as Network+ or Security+ is preferred.
