CDC Teaching Assistant (Student)

About the role#

The CDC Teaching Assistant assists the teacher in the supervision and management of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. This is a paid, on-site position for the Fall 2025 term, open to students in Psychology, Nursing, Public Health, Kinesiology, and Health Administration. This role qualifies for the Federal Work-Study program for eligible students.

What you'll do#

• Assist in developing, planning, and implementing a daily curriculum that provides social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and spiritual experiences for children.
• Follow safety guidelines to ensure the well-being of children at all times.
• Perform assigned tasks and duties according to established practices and standards with minimal supervision.
• Provide guidance to children and move quickly to assist or supervise them as needed.
• Lift children, equipment, and supplies.

What you'll need#

• Must be at least 18 years of age and currently enrolled as a student at Bob Jones University.
• Successfully complete SLED and FBI background checks.
• Maintain a positive, caring attitude toward children, parents, and coworkers.
• Possess knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for young children.
• Complete 15 clock hours of annual training in Growth and Development, Curriculum, and Health and Safety.
• Complete Bloodborne Pathogens and Right to Know training.
• Provide documentation of a physical exam and a PPD (TB) test.
