About the role#
As a Commercial Banking Credit Analyst Intern at BMO, you will develop financial analysis and credit assessment skills while working with experienced bankers. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to projects, learn how the bank partners with businesses to fuel growth, and explore a career in commercial banking.
What you'll do#
- Analyze credit information to support lending decisions and processes for new and existing loans.
- Perform financial analysis and calculations to provide recommendations to your manager.
- Prepare detailed credit summaries to assess creditworthiness.
- Support portfolio monitoring and compliance by analyzing metrics and industry trends to identify risks and opportunities.
- Structure and support new, renewal, and extension loans.
- Build and maintain client relationships in collaboration with relationship managers.
- Identify revenue, cross-selling, and share of wallet opportunities.
- Serve as a point of contact for service requests and manage accurate data entry.
- Complete complex tasks within established rules and guidelines.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an undergraduate degree program with an expected graduation date in Spring 2028.
- A preferred minimum GPA of 3.2/4.0.
- A preferred minimum of two undergraduate finance and accounting classes or equivalent experience.
- Strong communication, analytical, and relationship-building skills.
- A detail-oriented approach and a strong work ethic.
- Relevant experience in credit, lending instruments, or financial operations is an asset.
- Ability to work as a team player and self-motivated individual.
