About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in the health insurance industry. You will work on projects that help identify business problems and improve organizational efficiency. The program includes networking with leaders, participating in department meetings, and engaging in community outreach.
What you'll do#
- Research business problems and suggest solutions to management.
- Support leaders on projects aimed at increasing team efficiency.
- Track queue and contractor work to optimize FTE utilization.
- Create reports and metrics to monitor weekend work.
- Analyze Peer to Peer decisions from Henry Ford Healthcare.
- Learn about BCBSM products, data, and organizational structure.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate, graduate, Master’s, or PhD student.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internal systems.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Discretion when handling confidential information.
- Preference for pre-med students and those with a background in data analysis.
