About the role#
Blue Bird Corporation is seeking a part-time Mechanical Engineering student to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world engineering projects within the motor vehicle manufacturing industry. This position is on-site and operates on a rolling basis.
What you'll do#
- Complete engineering tasks involving product design, analysis, testing, integration, and systems engineering.
- Perform analysis on existing products and assist in the design and development of future product lines.
- Conduct quality assurance activities focused on system safety, launch processes, and production operations.
- Participate in projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Present outcomes from key projects to engineering leadership and executive teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Must be at least 18 years of age prior to the start date.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

- Location: Fort Valley, Georgia, United States.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week with flexibility for academic commitments.
- Working conditions: Office environment with requirements to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and potential exposure to varying weather conditions and noise levels.
