About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will join our team in the Buildings sub-discipline to support fire protection projects. This full-time summer internship provides hands-on experience with infrastructure projects and engineering analyses.
What you'll do#
- Develop, evaluate, and design specifications and contract drawings.
- Design systems including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, standby power, and flood control.
- Perform tasks to support engineering analyses, report production, and designs.
- Prepare basic calculations and assist in equipment selection.
- Coordinate with other disciplines and schedule project deliverables.
- Collect, organize, and evaluate data.
- Analyze systems using computer modeling.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET accredited university studying Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
- Strong mathematical, problem-solving, and computer skills.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Coursework in Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, and Fluid Dynamics is preferred.
- Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, including a background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.
