About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineer Intern within the Conventional Power Systems team, you will support advanced power generation projects. You will work on the design of mechanical equipment and systems while gaining hands-on experience across various engineering disciplines. This is a full-time, paid summer internship.
What you'll do#
- Develop, evaluate, and design project specifications and contract drawings.
- Prepare basic engineering calculations and assist in equipment selection.
- Support engineering analyses and report production.
- Analyze systems using computer modeling software.
- Coordinate tasks with other engineering disciplines.
- Collect, organize, and evaluate project data.
- Schedule project deliverables and maintain project files.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Mechanical or Chemical Engineering program.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and oral communication abilities.
- Proficiency with computer tools.
- Coursework in fluids and thermodynamics is preferred.
- Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding, including a background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.
