About the role#
This summer internship offers hands-on experience within the Corporate Communications team at a biotechnology company. You will support internal communications, external communications, and event planning efforts while gaining exposure to the biotechnology industry. This is a full-time, paid position lasting 11 to 12 weeks.
What you'll do#
- Create content for the global intranet and assist in the development of the biweekly employee newsletter.
- Manage the company-wide mass email coordination calendar.
- Collaborate with departments across various locations to ensure diverse employee perspectives are represented in internal communications.
- Organize internal platforms, including photo and video libraries, and conduct research to support communications activities.
- Assist with traditional monitoring efforts to track company and industry news, while maintaining media trackers.
- Support the coordination of all-employee meetings and internal events, including agenda development, slide creation, speaker preparation, and event logistics.
- Proofread documents and edit content to ensure it is tailored to the intended audience and platform.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in Communications or a related discipline with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter and adapt to changing priorities.
- Willingness to collaborate and assist with tasks outside of the core role.
- Submission of three work samples, such as writing projects, video work, or communications plans, along with 2-3 references.
