About the role#
CardVault by Tom Brady is looking for a creative student to help design and build custom vault systems. You will work at the intersection of design, engineering, and manufacturing. This role involves using 3D modeling software to develop components for our high-end storage and display solutions. You will work closely with our Fabrication Manager and external production partners to bring concepts to life.
What you'll do#
- Use 3D modeling software to design and refine vault components.
- Create technical drawings, renderings, and specifications for fabrication.
- Work with the Fabrication Manager to turn concepts into manufacturable designs.
- Support design revisions based on feedback from internal teams and partners.
- Organize and maintain design files, documentation, and version control.
- Visit our fabrication partner in Charlton, Massachusetts to observe production and support design implementation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
- Experience with 3D modeling or CAD software, specifically SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Onshape.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Teams.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Interest in physical product development and manufacturing.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship or co-op position.
- The role is hybrid, but you must be available to work in person in Charlton, Massachusetts at least twice per week for site visits and meetings.
- You may be required to lift or move up to 50 lbs using proper lifting techniques.
