About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship with the Workers Compensation Division of Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies. The role is based on-site in Omaha, Nebraska, and follows a rolling term structure. You will work 15 to 30 hours per week during the school year and 30 to 40 hours per week during the summer.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate risk acceptability by reviewing driver quality, loss history, and general business operations.
- Identify potential issues and discuss them with lead underwriters.
- Communicate pricing decisions to agents and respond to their questions.
- Gain practical knowledge of insurance concepts, including coverages and pricing, with a specific focus on commercial auto underwriting.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior.
- A major in Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic math skills.
- Excellent grammar, proofreading, and written communication skills.
- The ability to meet deadlines.
