About the role#
Benchmark Space Systems is hiring a Production Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027. You will work alongside engineers and technicians to build and test technologies for in-space propulsion products used in small satellites. This is an on-site role based in Burlington, Vermont.
What you'll do#
- Create travelers to document assembly processes.
- Manage assembly and testing schedules.
- Develop and manage production processes.
- Document as-built assembly records using Manufacturing orders and Assembly Component Reports.
- Generate Nonconformance reports to document issues.
- Identify production improvements to reduce cost and schedule.
- Manage controlled inventory and handle vendor communications.
- Balance multiple projects and workloads simultaneously.
- Maintain the company reputation for honesty, integrity, accountability, and transparency.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar field.
- Strong organizational, record-keeping, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft and Adobe Suite.
- Ability to collaborate in a multi-team environment.
- Capacity to communicate technical problems and concepts using written, visual, and oral strategies.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings, diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
- Applicants must qualify as a U.S. Person under U.S. export control laws.
