About the role#
BeachFleischman is looking for an Accounting & Assurance Intern to join the Audit team in Phoenix. You will work under the supervision of a CPA and an assigned buddy to gain hands-on experience in the field. This role involves preparing audit work papers and conducting field work while applying accounting standards to real-world tasks.
What you'll do#
- Prepare audit work papers and perform assigned audit procedures for specific accounts and transactions.
- Complete analytical review procedures, including documentation of expectations, results, and conclusions.
- Coordinate with clients to obtain necessary information and explain review procedures.
- Draft financial statements and notes for simple compilations or reviews.
- Apply AICPA code of conduct and authoritative literature from the FASB and GASB.
- Conduct research using various sources to build your knowledge of accounting and tax techniques.
- Communicate assignment status to senior staff and provide general assistance to the accounting team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate accounting student.
- Good academic standing.
- A clear desire to obtain your CPA license.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to learn and use complex tax software systems.
