About the role#
We are looking for an Accounting & Assurance Intern to join our team in Tucson. You will work under the supervision of a CPA and an assigned buddy to gain hands-on experience in audit and assurance services. This role involves learning how to apply accounting standards while assisting our senior staff with daily tasks.
What you'll do#
- Prepare audit work papers and conduct field work.
- Complete analytical review procedures, including documenting expectations, results, and conclusions.
- Communicate with clients to gather information and explain review procedures.
- Draft financial statements and notes for simple compilations and reviews.
- Perform audit procedures for specific accounts and transactions.
- Research accounting topics using various sources and authoritative literature from the FASB and GASB.
- Apply the rules and code of conduct established by the AICPA.
- Update senior staff on the status of your assignments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate accounting student.
- Good academic standing.
- A desire to obtain your CPA license.
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Willingness to learn complex tax software systems.
