About the role#
This is a full-time internship for Summer 2028 based in Denver. You will work on-site with our Core Tax Services team, gaining hands-on experience while supporting our client base. You will assist experienced professionals with tax compliance and consulting tasks to help build your professional career.
What you'll do#
- Prepare tax returns and extensions.
- Assist with quarterly estimates and year-end filing projections.
- Help respond to notices from the Internal Revenue Service.
- Use tax software to complete simple returns.
- Apply firm policies and the BDO Tax Quality Manual to your work.
- Organize files and use referencing systems to minimize rework.
- Research tax law and developments to help communicate potential client impacts.
- Assist with income tax provisions and components of FAS 109 and FIN 48.
- Monitor impending due dates and engagement letters.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting or a related field.
- Active pursuit of school credits to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Preference for candidates pursuing a Masters degree or those with leadership experience.

- Compensation: This is a paid internship. The hourly range for this position in Colorado is $34.00 to $38.00 per hour.
