About the role#
The Securitization and Specialty Finance (SSF) team provides students with hands-on exposure to asset-based financing, credit analysis, and structured finance. This role supports the execution and ongoing management of SSF transactions, including operational, reporting, and documentation-related projects. You will work alongside experienced finance professionals to help expand access to capital for Canadian entrepreneurs.
What you'll do#
- Assist with funding and disbursement activities, including the review of funding packages, data tapes, models, and transaction documentation.
- Support the preparation and organization of documentation for funding, settlement, annual reviews, and internal approvals.
- Help validate, reconcile, and maintain data used for funding, portfolio monitoring, and reporting.
- Review transaction documents, agreements, and reports to identify key terms, covenants, and performance trends.
- Analyze portfolio data, including cash flow, performance, delinquency, and loss trends.
- Prepare internal reports, presentation materials, and process documentation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across SSF, Risk Management, Legal, Treasury, and Accounting.
- Support process improvement initiatives by documenting workflows and identifying opportunities to streamline manual tasks.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, mathematics, statistics, business administration, accounting, economics, law, financial risk management, or data analytics.
- Strong interest in finance, banking, capital markets, securitization, or specialty finance.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage detailed information.
- Strong Excel skills, including experience with formulas, financial models, and large data sets.
- Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and communicate findings clearly.
- Proficiency in French is considered an asset.
