About the role#
The Securitization and Specialty Finance (SSF) student role provides hands-on exposure to BDC’s specialized financing business. You will support the SSF team with projects, operational tasks, reporting, and documentation-related activities across the securitization platform. This is a temporary, full-time position running from September 2026 to December 2026.
What you'll do#
- Assist with funding and disbursement activities, including the review of funding packages, data tapes, models, and documentation.
- Prepare and organize documentation for funding, settlement, annual reviews, and internal approvals.
- Review transaction agreements and reports to identify key terms, covenants, and eligibility criteria.
- Assist with portfolio monitoring by reviewing monthly reporting, performance data, and trends.
- Validate, reconcile, and maintain data used for reporting and portfolio oversight.
- Support process improvement initiatives by documenting workflows and identifying opportunities to streamline manual tasks.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Risk Management, Legal, Treasury, Accounting, and Operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, mathematics, business administration, economics, accounting, data science, statistics, political science, law, or related disciplines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify patterns in detailed information.
- Excellent attention to detail, specifically in reviewing documentation, validating data, and identifying inconsistencies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing summaries and professional internal documentation.
- Advanced Excel skills, including experience with large data sets, formulas, reconciliations, and financial models.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and exercise sound judgment with sensitive information.
