About the role#
As a Data Science Intern, you will support our team in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting information to help drive business decisions. This role provides hands-on experience with statistical modeling and data visualization in a collaborative setting.
What you'll do#
- Extract data from databases using SQL queries.
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends and patterns.
- Design SQL-based reports and create ad-hoc or scheduled reports using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or SQL Server Reporting Services.
- Build visualizations such as charts, graphs, and dashboards to present findings.
- Test reports to ensure data accuracy and identify solutions for discrepancies.
- Document SQL queries, development processes, and visualization techniques.
- Create user manuals and guidelines for report interpretation.
- Support end-users and gather feedback to improve reporting quality.
- Participate in meetings to provide updates and understand user needs.
- Adhere to data security and privacy policies while handling sensitive information.
- Manage multiple tasks to meet project deadlines.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of data mining, statistical analysis, and visualization techniques.
- Familiarity with SQL and statistical software like Python, R, or SAS.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Effective communication skills to explain complex data findings.
- A willingness to learn and solve problems.
