Youth Program Assistant - BC

About the role#

The Youth Program Assistant supports the Off Campus Community Service department at Baylor University. This position requires working directly with youth in a community setting. Students must be eligible for Federal Work-Study to qualify for this role. Reliable transportation is necessary as this position is located off-campus.

What you'll do#

• Plan and implement daily activities, including equipment setup and room preparation.
• Build relationships with program participants and supervise youth and volunteers.
• Enforce program rules and maintain discipline.
• Complete various administrative and cleaning tasks.
• If 21 or older with a valid driver's license and clean driving record, assist with transporting youth from school to the program site.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a Baylor University student with Federal Work-Study eligibility.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to act as a mature and adept communicator.
• Competence in problem-solving and the flexibility to prioritize tasks effectively.
• General office skills.
• A mature Christian faith.
• Preferred majors include Psychology, Sociology, Communications, Human Resources, Public Health, or Nursing.

Location & details#

• Location: Waco, Texas (Off-campus at Mission Waco Mission World).
• Term: Fall 2026.
• Schedule: 10-20 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, between 4:00 pm and 6:30 pm. Students are expected to be available for at least two of these days, with additional hours available for administrative duties.
• Compensation: $11.00 - $12.50 per hour, depending on status and skill level.
