This position supports the Construction Manager and Director of Construction in building affordable single-family homes. You will work on-site to facilitate construction tasks, assist with the building process from framing to final punch-out items, and ensure the job site is prepared for volunteers.
What you'll do#
- Prepare the job site for incoming volunteers.
- Supervise Habitat homeowners and volunteers during construction activities.
- Deliver materials to the work site.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
- Assist with physical labor, including operating power tools, climbing ladders, and moving materials.
What you'll need#
- Must be eligible for Federal Work Study.
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including standing, walking on uneven surfaces, and performing manual labor throughout the day.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff, partnering families, and diverse community members.
- Preferred majors include Civil Engineering, Architecture, Environmental Engineering, Urban Planning, Business Administration, or Human Resources.
Location & details#
- Location: Waco, Texas.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Work schedule: Up to 20 hours per week, Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
- Work modality: On-site.
