Volunteer Program Assistant - BC

About the role#

The Volunteer Program Assistant supports the Volunteer Service Coordinator and the Mobilization team in administering the volunteer program at Mission Waco. This role involves direct engagement with volunteers and staff to ensure the smooth operation of various community programs. This is a part-time position requiring 10-20 hours per week during the Fall 2026 term.

What you'll do#

• Assist with volunteer recruitment activities, including tabling events and orientations.
• Maintain the volunteer database and update participant profiles using the CERVIS software.
• Generate reports and perform general administrative and office duties.
• Create content such as flyers and handouts for programs and special events.
• Provide ongoing support to volunteers and represent the organization at various programs throughout the semester.
• Communicate with volunteers and staff via email, phone, text, and in-person interactions.

What you'll need#

• Must be eligible for federal work-study.
• Proficiency in general office software including Excel and Word.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage data entry tasks.
• A genuine interest in the mission and goals of the non-profit.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and solve problems effectively.
• Preferred majors include Communications, Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, Philosophy, or Political Science.

• Location: Waco, Texas.
• Work Modality: On-site at Mission Waco Mission World.
• Compensation: $11.00 - $12.50 per hour.
• Reliable transportation is required for this off-campus position.
