The Urban REAP Education and Community Programs Assistant supports the Urban REAP Director with community outreach and programming. This role involves managing the Compost Program, community weekend activities, and various educational initiatives. This is an off-campus, paid position requiring 10-20 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Develop educational curriculum, materials, and videos for both online and onsite use.
- Plan and implement lesson plans for after-school programming aimed at children and youth.
- Create monthly community activities to help visitors engage with Urban REAP themes.
- Research resources to enhance educational materials.
- Contribute to social media channels and assist with general community outreach.
- Support daily Urban REAP operations and additional projects as needed.
What you'll need#
- Must be eligible for federal work-study.
- Reliable transportation, as this is an off-campus position.
- Background in Environmental Studies, Ecology, Biology, Education, Public Health, or related fields is preferred.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish are preferred.
- Experience in educational programming.

- Location: Waco, Texas.
- Work Modality: On-site at Mission Waco Mission World.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Compensation: $11.00 - $12.50 per hour.
