Student Worker - School of Music Production Assistant

About the role#

The School of Music at Baylor University is seeking student workers to support the operations of its performance halls. This role involves working both independently and as part of a team to ensure the smooth execution of concerts, recitals, and departmental events. This is a paid, on-site position with a flexible schedule based on the School of Music events calendar.

What you'll do#

• Setup, operate, and breakdown stage and audiovisual equipment for productions and events.
• Assist with audio recording production for recitals.
• Manage the audience guest experience by greeting guests, managing seating, and providing information.
• Perform business operations duties and assist with various projects and tasks as assigned.
• Adhere to dress code requirements, including professional all-black attire for major events and closed-toe shoes for stage setup activities.

What you'll need#

• Ability to prioritize tasks and take initiative.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Reliability in maintaining regular and punctual attendance.
• Ability to comply with all University policies.
• Prior experience with audio mixers, video equipment, stage risers, and other production gear is a plus.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including sitting, standing, bending, and lifting.

• Location: McCrary Music Building, Waco, Texas.
• Employment Term: Rolling, with opportunities for summer work.
• Eligibility: Open to students in Communications, Media Studies, and related fields.
